ABC unveiled strategic insights into programming decisions in Brisbane on Wednesday 6 May 2015


Queensland screen practitioners were treated to an insightful presentation from top executives at the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) in Brisbane on Wednesday 6 May 2015.

The team generously shared strategy details and commissioning preferences, as well as providing the opportunity for producers to meet and talk with key ABC decision-makers.

During the presentation Richard Finlayson, Director of Television spoke on the overall ABC TV strategy; Rebecca Heap, Head of Digital Products explained ABC’s plans in the digital space with a expansion to iview services; Deirdre Brennan, Head of Children’s shared the key priorities in Children’s commissioning; Brendan Dahill, Head of Programming discussed the ABC schedule and key audience segments; and Adrian Swift, Head of Content & Creative Development took time with Genre and ABC Commercial to talk about what they’re looking to commission and how you should pitch ideas.
