Events seeking funding under this category must apply under Round 1.

  • Up to $8,000 is available per application for festivals.

With applications, not be for less than $2,000 for a single project.

Multi-Year Funding is available for festivals with Queensland attendance above 10,000:  Festivals that can provide evidence of Queensland audience attendance above 10,000 may be eligible for funding for two (2) concurrent years.

The screen culture funding program aims to stimulate the demand for and access to Australian screen content in Queensland and everywhere, from traditional cinematic screens to those still being developed and every platform in between.

The Screen Culture program provides support for regional and remote festivals in Queensland to enhance screen festivals across Queensland, enabling them to contribute to a more competitive film industry domestically and internationally.  It also supports screen events that increase audiences’ choices, providing more diverse content than what is readily accessible in communities and aims to maximize Queensland and/or Australian content that has originated from Queensland

Funding is competitive and to ensure Screen Queensland can support a broad range of events, funding is capped for projects of cultural significance and touring film festivals. Grants offered to successful applicants for other festivals will generally be in the range of $2,000 and $8,000.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss their submission with Screen Queensland before applying. Please email Rowena Billard Screen Culture Manager, rbillard@screenqld.com.au
