Screen Queensland to support five Queensland producers to attend Screen Forever 2016


Screen Queensland (SQ) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from Queensland producers looking to attend this year’s Screen Forever conference.  Held by Screen Producers Australia (SPA), Screen Forever takes place at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne from Tuesday 15 November – Thursday 17 November 2016.

Screen Forever is the premier Australian event for producers and industry stakeholders to network, conduct business and deepen an understanding of issues impacting the screen marketplace and industry.

With a focus on producers, the event is attended by some of Australia’s and the world’s most recognisable decision-makers from all areas of the screen entertainment business.

SQ is pleased to be supporting five Queensland producers to attend Screen Forever to drive their slate, professional development and business objectives.

Successful participants will receive a gold registration for the conference (worth up to $2,015), in addition to a grant from Screen Queensland of $1,000 AUD to meet the costs of flights and accommodation.

Eligibility:

All EOIs must be submitted to SQ and received no later than 5.00pm (AEST), Friday 7 October 2016.

Screen Queensland will NOT consider submissions made after the deadline.

Eligible participants are:

> Australian citizens or permanent residents living in Queensland.

> Bona fide Queensland producers with a minimum of one producorial credit (producer, executive producer, co-producer, associate producer) in at least one of the following formats:  feature film, broadcast, digital series, or festival screened short film.

> Have a slate of up to three projects that are ready to be taken to market – the participant must be able to demonstrate clear rights for all the nominated projects as needed.

> A commitment from the applicant to participate for the full conference from 15 – 17 November 2016.

How will my expression of interest be assessed?

SQ will assess each submission, taking into consideration:

> the track record of the producer.

> the quality of the slate.

> the quality of the overall strategy for attendance.

  1. Given the expected level of applications, feedback will not be provided to unsuccessful applicants.

What documents do I need to provide?

Please review the check-list at the end of the submission form.  Incomplete submissions will NOT be assessed.

For all EOIs, SQ requires:

> CV and BIO.

> One paragraph and one-page synopsis for each of up to three projects that demonstrates the producer has a strong slate.

> A copy of the lead project/s which will be the focus of the submission.

> A producer statement detailing the objectives on attendance addressing project/professional and business benefits.

> A list of potential meetings that reflect the ambitions of your statement.
