SQ industry delegation heading to SXSW 2018

Queensland will be represented at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2018 in Austin Texas from 9 – 18 March with a delegation of five representatives from the local screen and games industry, with the support of Screen Queensland.

SXSW is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media and music festivals and conferences, and showcases the latest in cutting-edge work and innovation in global interactive, film and music markets. The Screen Queensland contingent will be part of the Australia House activation and will be led by Sue Swinburne, Lecturer at Griffith Film School, Griffith University, who will also Chair an industry panel on the future of screen.

Screen Queensland will be supporting some of Queensland’s most innovative screen and gaming companies with kids’ content creators Like A Photon Creative, writer/director Lucas Taylor, app studio Hydric Media, game developers Defiant Development, and digital product studio Josephmark.

Queensland innovation will be featured in panel discussions, interactive showcases of ground-breaking work, and meet-the-maker sessions, connecting practitioners with their peers from around the world.  SXSW delegates can visit and play with the best of narrative-driven Virtual Reality, console games, and mobile apps, and explore exciting business innovation in the content space.

The Screen Queensland Lounge will showcase our home-grown creatives, and will also feature music by Queensland artists.
