Apply now to present at the 2018 Asian Animation Summit taking place in Seoul, South Korea

Applications close, 5.00pm Friday 7 September

Screen Queensland in partnership with the Asian Animation Summit (AAS), is calling-out for Queensland projects to be presented at the 2018 AAS taking place from 28 – 30 November in Seoul, South Korea.

The AAS is a unique showcase of new animated children’s series seeking finance and production partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

Two (2) Queensland projects (represented by their creative teams) will be selected to present at the AAS in front of a high-level audience of content-makers, distributors, investors and broadcasters from across the Asia-Pacific region and will receive Market Funding from Screen Queensland to support their travel ($3,500 for an individual and $5,000 for a team of two or more).

The AAS – supported by hosting partner KOCCA (Korea), presenting partners MDEC (Malaysia) and BEKRAF (Indonesia), and supporting partners Screen Queensland and Create NSW (Australia), DITP (Thailand) and ASIFA China – has been the launchpad for a significant number of Australian animated series including Queensland series Balloon Barnyard (Like A Photon Creative) and The Strange Chores and Bluey (Ludo Studio).

The AAS offers a unique opportunity for two Queensland animation producers to showcase their work amongst their peers from Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific, to seek co-production partners and to pitch their work to a select group of international broadcasters and decision-makers.

Asian, European, UK and North American broadcasters and distributors come to the AAS looking for the best new projects from the region.

The 2018 showcase will be comprised entirely of brand-new animated series aimed at young audiences aged up to 15 and intended for broadcast on free-to-air, subscription television, SVOD or other internet platforms.

Selected projects will be creatively exciting and preference will be given to partially-funded projects over those still in development. All applicants must meet the Asian Animation Summit Eligibility Criteria and submit an executed Presentation Waiver with their application.

Applications close, 5.00pm Friday 7 September with successful applicants to be notified by mid-October 2018.
