ABC Studios International’s crime drama Reef Break stars Australian-born Poppy Montgomery was filmed at Village Roadshow Studios as well as on location on the Gold Coast.
Reef Break employed approximately 75 per cent Queensland crew and provided opportunities to local people to upskill and create meaningful career pathways.
About Guy J. Luthan
Guy J. Louthan has had extensive US and international experience as a feature film and TV producer over a period of over thirty years. Over the last twenty five years he has developed and produced features and TV with a specialization in international co-production. Working with all the major talent agencies he has become expert in the packaging of talent alongside the application and implementation of US and international tax incentives, subsidies and financial credit structures.
As an on set producer, Guy has actively planned, packaged and produced more than 60 feature films and 30 TV or cable productions in over 20 countries for a large number of major international production companies including Columbia Studios, DreamWorks, NBC Universal, Sony, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Studios, Fox Searchlight, Miramax, Dimension, New Line, Focus Features, HBO Films, Killer Films, ABC, NBC, CBS, Pearson Television, All American Television, Spike TV, Netflix, FX and many others.
As an executive, Guy has headed production at a number of established film and TV companies. Guy was Vice President In Charge of Production at ITC Entertainment Group, Inc. V.P. Physical Production at GERBER/ITC Inc. In house producer for I.R.S. Media and head of physical production for Columbia Studio’s Discovery Program.
With his considerable experience and background in VFX, Guy also oversaw post production, visual effects and tech services divisions.
As an active member of the American Film Institute, Guy currently sits on the AFI’s Third Decade Council’s advisory committee where he is a member of the fundraising subcommittee. He is a member in good standing of the Directors Guild Of America, The Producers Guild Of America and The Recording Academy.
In between productions, Guy teaches and lectures on film production to graduate and under-graduate students at a number of Universities and film schools. These include The AFI, The Academy Of Art University San Francisco and others.
About Mark Rosner
Mark Rosner has been writing feature films and television shows for more than thirty years, after making award-winning student films at USC and the American Film Institute. His documentary On Ocean Front Walk is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
His television credits include Crime Story, Dream Street, My So-Called Life, Smith, Close to Home, My Own Worst Enemy, Blue Bloods and Ironside. He is now showrunner/Executive Producer on Reef Break.
Features include The Rock, and (uncredited) contributions to Behind Enemy Lines, US Marshals and The Avengers.
