SQ support to attend Scripted Summit in LA and co-production: working with NZ


Screen Queensland will support Queensland-based screenwriters and producers looking to extend their networks internationally.

Scripted Summit in Los Angeles 7-8 November 2017

Screen Queensland will support three mid-late career Queensland screenwriters to attend the Scripted Summit in Los Angeles from  7-8 November 2017.

Scripted Summit is North America’s preeminent conference and market for the business of scripted entertainment. It brings together top creators, producers, buyers and distributors of scripted programming to focus on business, networking and deals. In a nutshell, Scripted Summit gives practitioners unique access to leaders in the global scripted entertainment industry.

At Scripted, practitioners can make face-to-face connections and join the discussion on what’s working now. They will hear key execs debate their POV on how to navigate massive industry change, and join intimate breakout sessions and roundtables on new business models.

Each successful applicant will receive registration to the Scripted Summit as well as $3000 to assist with the cost of travel and accommodation for the two-day summit. Applications close 5pm Friday 8 September.

Co-production: working with New Zealand

Screen Queensland invites expressions of interest (EOI) from experienced Queensland narrative screen producers to take part in a series of meetings and networking events in New Zealand, with the goal of initiating co-production partnerships.

A delegation of up to eight  experienced Queensland narrative screen producers will each receive up to $3500 to assist with the cost of travel and accommodation. Meetings will be facilitated by Screen Queensland and the New Zealand Film Commission but it is the applicant’s responsibility to arrange travel and accommodation. Dates of travel will be confirmed later this year.

EOIs close 5pm Monday 4 September.
