The Screen Queensland Talent Development Fund Round 2 OPEN

Round Two Now Open

The Screen Queensland (SQ) Talent Development Fund is now open for Round Two.  This Fund offers screenwriters up to $15,000 to further develop their film and series draft screenplays under the guidance of an experienced script editor or creative mentor, and before a producer is attached to the project.

Applications close at 5.00pm (AEST), 29 March 2018.

Who can apply? The Talent Development Fund is open to Queensland feature film or series writers / writing teams whose project does not have a producer attached. Writers must have an existing draft screenplay for the project requiring development. Projects may only be successful once through the Talent Development Fund and there is only one application per person, per round accepted.

How much can I apply for? SQ will fund up to $15,000 (up to $10,000 for writing and up to $5,000 for a script editor or creative mentor/expert). No project will be 100 per cent funded by Screen Queensland.

What is the application process? Applicants will be required to submit a one-pager, screenplay and development plan, indicating what they hope to achieve in this stage of development. Applicants are responsible for attaching their own script editor/mentor.

The script editor/mentor selected must be a Queenslander, and must have experience working in the designated format. If the script editor/mentor is a non-Queenslander, the applicant is responsible for their costs. Assessors will consider the originality and commercial appeal of the concepts as well as the execution.

Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, initial assessments will be made based on the one-pager and the first ten pages of the screenplay.

To apply: Applicants should read the Screen Development Funding Guidelines.
