It’s game on for the Sunshine Coast. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a budding games developer, Season of the Dev is here to connect and grow our local games scene. From March to May 2025, we’re bringing together our Sunshine Coast games development community for informative workshops, networking events, a community day and an exhilarating 3-day Game Jam.

All events are free or low cost, but have limited capacity. Registrations for the events are now open.

Screen Queensland’s Season of the Dev is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government through Jobs Queensland and delivered in partnership with Essential Screen Skills.

Community Day

Date: Saturday 15 March

Time: 10am–4pm

Location: Innovation Centre, University of the Sunshine Coast, 90 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs

Cost: Free

No registration required.

Please note: Due to weather conditions, we are postponing the Season of the Dev Community Day at Uni SC, initially scheduled for Saturday 8 March. The health and safety of our community is our top priority.

The free Community Day will now be held as above on Saturday 15 March.. Stay safe and we hope you can join us then.

Games Design Workshop

Programming Workshop

Game Jam

Time: 10am Friday to 4pm Sunday

Cost: $20 registration fee per person

Art Workshop

Date: Thursday 10 April

Mental Health Workshop

Time: 1–3pm

Building a Sustainable Games Career Networking Event

Date: Thursday 24 April

Time: 5–9pm

Cost: Free, with light food provided and drinks available for purchase

Business Development Workshop

Date: Thursday 8 May

Time: 2–6pm

Cost: Free, with afternoon tea provided

End of Fest Celebration

Date: Friday 9 May

Time: 1–8pm

Location: Aussie World, 73 Frizzo Road, Palmview

Cost: $30, which includes ride access from 1–4pm and food and drink on arrival to the networking celebration from 4–8pm

Additional opportunity: We are supporting a select number of local practitioners to gain their Mental Health First Aid qualification to improve Mental Health outcomes for their games community. Places are strictly limited.
