Screen Queensland acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Custodians of Australia. We recognise their 65,000 years of custodianship that pre-dates colonisation. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and recognise the cultural and historic connection to land, sea, cosmos (the inclusion of the constellations that are part of a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spiritual and environmental narrative) and community. Renowned for its stunning locations — including lush tropical rainforests, white sandy beaches and remote island oases — Far North Queensland is soon to boast a state-of-the-art film and television studio complex in the Cairns suburb of Portsmith.
Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns is now open to productions, complementing Screen Queensland Studios, Brisbane in the state’s capital and other facilities on the Gold Coast.
Motivated by high demand from both Australian and international productions to film in this unique and spectacular part of the world, Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns offers:

- sound recording studio

- wardrobe
- 88 car spaces.
An event space and tenant suites will further cement the facility as part of the region's dynamic creative community. Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns is conveniently located just minutes from the Cairns CBD, Cairns International Airport and the region's stunning locations, with excellent access to major highways.
