NQ Screen Skills: Runner and Assistant Director (AD) workshop

Get your foot in the door with our NQ Screen Skills: Runner and Assistant Director (AD) workshop. The runner is a critical, entry-level role helps keep the wheels of a production turning and can often be a pathway to becoming an assistant director (AD).

North and Far North Queensland emerging practitioners are invited to join us for the full-day workshop delivered in partnership with Screenworks. Facilitated by experienced 1st Assistant Director Killian Maguire, the full day workshop will cover the essential skills needed for both runners and assistant directors including effective communication, time management, problem solving, coordinating shooting schedules, managing background actors and ensuring the director’s vision is followed.

The NQ Screen Skills: Runner and Assistant Director (AD) workshop is delivered by Screenworks as part of our North Queensland Regional Program.

ABOUT KILLIAN MAGUIRE

Killian Maguire is a 1st Assistant Director working in film and television. He has been in the industry for 17 years, studying Fine Arts, Film Production at QUT. 

Killian has worked on films such as The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine, Alien Covenant, Thor Ragnarök, Shang Chi – The Legend of Ten Rings, The Nightingale, Planet of The Apes and television shows like Mr Inbetween, Wolf Like Me and NCIS Sydney.
