Screen Queensland is pleased to announce Rhianna Malezer and Kelly Baxter as the Queensland participants for She Directs.
She Directs, run by BLACKapple in collaboration with Common Ground, Screenrights and Screen Australia, is a three-day intensive directors lab designed for up to eight First Nations women and gender diverse people who are looking to take their first or next step in their directing career.
Queensland practitioners are encouraged to apply for the initiative facilitated by filmmaker Beck Cole (Deadloch, Wentworth, We Are Still Here) and includes hands-on learning through workshops as well as valuable networking opportunities.
She Directs is proudly supported by Screen Queensland alongside other state screen agencies and national organisations.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- First Nations (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) women or gender diverse people who are over the age of 18 and aspiring screen directors.
- Practitioners available to travel to attend in person to the lab. All expenses including food, accommodation and travel are covered by the program.
Practitioners from regional and remote areas are encouraged to apply.
