Screen Queensland is supporting local games developers to attend Japan’s leading indie games showcase, BitSummit.
Held in Kyoto this May, applications are now open to assist delegates to attend the event and connect with publishers, investors, platform holders and media from across the Asia Pacific region.
Funding is available for up to $3,000 per project towards registration, travel and accommodation expenses.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Eligible applicants include:
- games developers who are permanent Queensland residents, travelling as an individual or a team
- approved representatives of games where at least 75% of the development team are Queensland residents, unless an exemption is granted.
We seek to support the creation and growth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen practitioners, content and representation across our industry and state. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring diverse representation across all aspects of the production and development process. As such, diversity in areas of gender, age, culture, ethnicity, language, ability, sexuality, location (such as regional and remote areas) and socio-economic status are encouraged in projects we support.

PREPARING YOUR APPLICATION
Applicants will need to provide a:
- Plan – an outline of who you are going to meet and why they will be interested in your game
- Strategy – discuss why this market is the right one for you and your business, game and/or career
- Team – the CV and bio of each person travelling
- Pitch – a pitch deck and other materials outlining your business goals.
Applicants must have:
- rights to the game with a clear chain of title
- option agreement and/or the approval of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owners of the story, if applicable.

HOW WILL MY APPLICATION BE ASSESSED
Applicants will be assessed according to:
- their potential to successfully achieve their objectives in attending the market
- the viability of their pitch and strategy for attending
- the quality and suitability of proposed meetings at the market
- the quality of pitch materials.
