Screen sector companies and individual practitioners are invited to apply for residency in the sqhub, with two new desks now available. You can apply for one or both desks, either as a solo practitioner or a team of two.

The sqhub is a new shared workspace opened in April 2018 and made possible with investment from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland. It supports the growth of local screen businesses, and encourages collaboration and innovation to deliver a sustainable screen industry in Queensland.

sqhub offers subsidised residency of $165.00 plus GST per month, per desk which includes a desk, internet, electricity, kitchen access, shower access, security, wheelchair accessibility as well as access to a unique community and an exclusive sqhub events’ program.

Applications are competitive and will be assessed on the following criteria:

·         Strength and viability of the applicant’s business plan or a proposal outlining how tenancy at sqhub will benefit the applicant;

·         Potential impact of collaboration, creative and business development opportunities for the applicant through sqhub;

·         Track record and quality of slate and talent, appropriate to career stage of the applicant/company;

·         Benefits for Queensland screen industry, with consideration to the overall ecosystem of the sqhub.

The successful applicants will join the thirteen residents currently in the sqhub.

sqhub hot desks are also offered to members of the Queensland screen community.

sqhub community membership is also available and provides benefits like discounted event tickets and discounted hotdesk fees.
