SQ announces three Queensland projects selected for further development through ABC iview Queensland Originals: Factual Formats Initiative

Screen Queensland (SQ) is thrilled to announce the three Queensland teams selected to further develop their format-based, high volume factual series through the ABC iview Queensland Originals: Factual Formats initiative.

The three Queensland projects selected to go through to the next development stages are:

5 Minutes Smarter, Two Little Indians: James Greville (Producer, Writer), Hailey Bartholomew (Director/Writer), Patience Hodgson (Talent/Writer) and Mel Buttle (Talent/Writer)

Closure, WildBear Entertainment: Kate Paul (Producer/Writer) and Veronica Fury (Executive Producer)

Pillow Talk, Gawky Media: David Ridley (Producer/Director/Writer) and Martin Ingle (Producer/Director/Writer)

ABC iview Queensland Originals, launched in February, is an initiative focused on engaging early to mid career Queensland factual producers and to help them produce online factual and factual entertainment series to premiere on ABC iview – with the potential to be broadcast on ABC2.  It will support the development and production of up to three digital series.

Each of the three chosen projects will take part in a development workshop where they will receive concept development investment from SQ and guidance from the ABC factual team.

After the development stage, one project will be selected for production and distribution on the ABC iview platform.

SQ and ABC TV will then fund the entire budget of one of the series to a maximum of $450,000 with the potential for sale in the international marketplace.

Congratulations to all three teams!
