Supported by Screen Queensland, Screenworks’ Career Pathways Programs are designed to uplift emerging regional practitioners through valuable career opportunities and industry connections. Through partnerships with national organisations and production companies, the participants will receive bespoke support and guidance from some of Australia’s most respected writers, directors and producers.
Applications are open now for all three programs: Inside the Writers Room, the Regional Producer Elevator Program and the Directors Pathway Program.

Screenworks Career Pathways Programs 2024 are supported by Screen NSW and Screen Queensland and delivered in collaboration with The Australian Directors Guild and Screen Producers Australia. This initiative is part of Screen Queensland’s North Queensland Regional Program.
Inside the Writers Room
Two regional Queensland screenwriters will be selected to observe a professional television writers room at Hoodlum Entertainment or Unless Pictures. Opportunity includes flights, accommodation (up to 5 nights) and per diems.
Director Pathways Program
Two regional Queensland directors will each receive $3,500 towards their professional development, registration and travel to Screenworks’ Regional to Global Screen Forum and will refine a career plan in consultation with the Australian Directors Guild.
Regional Producer Elevator Program
Two regional Queensland producers will each receive $3,500 towards their professional development, plus registration and travel support to attend Screenworks’ Regional to Global Screen Forum and exclusive sessions at Screen Forever.
