BIOPIXEL
Biopixel specialises in documenting natural history behavioural sequences for clients and its specialised library. With over three decades of experience, Biopixel harnesses cutting-edge filming technologies and techniques, to maintain its competitiveness in an increasingly fierce market.
Biopixel has a dedicated marine and terrestrial filming studio, which boasts a large number of filming sets including a living coral reef and mangrove habitat, with both located outside for natural light. This setup allows animals to be conditioned in natural-looking sets, to obtain complex behaviour sequences that would be extremely expensive and challenging, if not impossible, to try to capture in the wild.
WHAT WILL SCREEN QUEENSLAND’S FUNDING SUPPORT?
Screen Queensland’s funding will enable Biopixel to extend its filming capabilities at higher resolutions and higher frame rates, to meet with current Netflix and Disney+ technical standards and assist in building topside and underwater motion control rigs,
KITE FISH FILM
Kite Fish Film Pty Ltd offers specialised location services to the film and television industry, supporting a wide range of productions including local and international projects, natural history documentaries, television series, TV commercials, and feature films with a primary focus on the Far North Queensland region. Beyond providing guidance on the feasibility and suitability of locations in the area, they also assist producers by connecting them with local resources such as crew members, equipment rentals, transportation services, accommodations and other necessary support. In addition to locations, the company provides specialised services in action coordination, stunt performing and safety consultation.

To attract filmmakers to the region, it is imperative the fabulous natural resources are shown in the very best light. Kite Fish Film will enhance its current equipment and location database systems meet this demand as well upgrading their stock of action and safety equipment.

Pandamonium Films seeks to elevate its digital presence, diversify its production slate, and strengthen its business strategy through targeted investments in web development, expert slate consultation, and business development consulting.
MILLSTREAM PRODUCTIONS
Millstream is a proud Far North Queensland-based factual production company. They travel extensively to produce their documentaries, always with an ear for new stories. They say work begets work and an ear for compelling narrative has given their team incredible opportunities and access to original IP. They are currently in post-production on a 3×1 hour docuseries Our Blue Heart — a beautiful blend of science, natural history and First Nations storytelling inside remote Australian Marine Parks.
WHAT WILL SCREEN QUEENSLAND’S FUNDING SUPPORT?
Screen Queensland funding will enable Millstream to engage a trainee editor/production coordinator and a bookkeeper/production accountant, with the goal of incubating more regional film crew and post-production talent into the future.
