Earlier this month the Australian screen industry came together to celebrate and recognise the achievements of the year at the 2019 AACTA Awards.

Queensland was represented across numerous categories and projects – a true testament to the talent coming from our state!

Special mention to the 6 SQ supported projects nominated, of which 4 took home top honours across 6 categories.

Total Control, which showcased our very own Winton, stole the show winning Best Drama Series, Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama (Deborah Mailman) and Best Guest or Supporting Actress in a Television Drama (Rachel Griffiths).

Queensland’s Ludo Studio took home two awards! Their web series Robbie Hood won Best Online Drama or Comedy and the amazing Bluey won Best Children’s Program.

Last but not least, the sound design team from Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan, filmed in Wooroolin in regional Queensland as well as on the Gold Coast, took home the award for Best Sound!

Congratulations to all the winners, it’s fantastic to see such diverse projects getting recognised from across the industry! Till next year!
