Changes to Screen Queensland Program Funding Structure and Terms of Trade

Screen Queensland supports a creative, innovative and successful screen industry through development and investment; secures production to Queensland; and delivers an active screen culture across Queensland.

Over the past 12 months, Screen Queensland has been actively engaging with the screen industry about how we can improve the way we work with practitioners and provide effective frameworks to forge successful projects, businesses and careers in a changing industry.

As a result Screen Queensland is rolling out a number of key changes to its program funding structures and terms of trade that will take effect from 1 July 2015.

What is changing from 1 July 2015?

1. Increase in Production Investment Ceilings
Raise the Production Investment ceiling from $650,000 to $750,000.
$100,000 ‘top up grant’ for eligible long form and large scale productions taking the total SQ funding to $850,000 for these projects.

2. Increase in Production Grant Ceilings
Raise the Production Grant ceiling from $50,000 to $100,000 for all projects where the production budget is up to $1million.
Raise the grant ceiling to $200,000 on a discretionary basis for projects supported through Production Funding where the budget is above $1 million.

Production funding applications will be assessed when applying for discretionary grants against mandatory criteria and additional criteria relating to Queensland production elements.

Please note further details on these changes will be announced in the coming months.
