Development + Production Funding Applications – An Introduction for Screen Practitioners (Cairns)


Following the recent SQ Roadshow 2015, Dan Lake (Director of Production Investment) and Christopher Sharp (Director of Development) will be in Cairns on Monday 15 June to meet with industry and discuss the fundamentals of Screen Queensland funding and investment applications.

The format of the day will be a general group session followed by one-on-one meetings between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

During the group session our SQ team will discuss:

• When to apply to Screen Queensland

• What is required to apply

• The application and assessment process

• How Screen Queensland assesses applications

ONE-ON-ONE MEETING DETAILS:

Dan and Christopher will also be available by appointment for one-on-one meetings following the presentation, between 10.00am – 3.00pm, at Rydges Tradewinds Cairns.

These one-on-one sessions will be an opportunity for filmmakers to discuss their projects, specific funding opportunities that may be available to them and what would be required for an application. Filmmakers are also welcome to make an appointment for a general discussion about their slate of projects.

Dan Lake, Screen Queensland – Director of Production Investment

Dan Lake, Screen Queensland’s Director of Production Investment has more than ten years’ experience in the development, financing and production of film, television and factual projects.

Previously Dan worked extensively at Brisbane-based Freshwater Pictures and on multiple TV productions including, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Real Housewives of Melbourne and Prank Patrol. His feature credits include comedy Subdivision, feature doco The Burning Season and the soon to be released Early Winter.

Christopher Sharp, Screen Queensland – Director of Development

Christopher Sharp, Screen Queensland’s Director of Development, has previously worked as a Development Executive at Screen Australia.

Having begun his career as an actor’s agent and producer in Sydney, Christopher underwent a professional placement for New York based sales company, FilmNation and was a Development Executive for Material Entertainment in London
