Do not miss this week’s screenings of “StalkHer” – preview and Q&A events in Ipswich and Brisbane!

Screen Queensland is thrilled to see OzPix Entertainment in association with The Backlot Films presenting John Jarratt’s directorial debut, StalkHer, with special preview screenings in Ipswich and Brisbane this week in the lead up to its national theatrical release on Thursday 27 August 2015.

The directors and stars of StalkHer, John Jarratt (Wolf Creek and Wolf Creek 2), and Kaarin Fairfax (Bed of Roses) are currently on the road for a national up-close-and-personal promotional tour (sponsored by Hush Hush Biz) which has seen the two stars introduce packed advance screenings to local fans.

StalkHer will then be screening at New Farm Cinemas, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane on Saturday 22 August from 6.00pm for a 7:00pm screening with John Jarratt and Kaarin Fairfax introducing the screening with a Q&A and hosting an after-screening and karaoke event. Click here for the website.

This Friday, 21 August, with Limelight Cinemas, Ipswich is also hosting a screening on Friday night from 6.00pm.

Written by Kris Maric who produces the film alongside Craig Kocinski, StalkHer is co-directed by Kaarin Fairfax who also co-stars with Jarratt.

Stalkher is the tale of two people destined for each other, yet destined to be each other’s demise. Offering raw dialogue and characters that will make you laugh at all the wrong things, Stalkher is a gritty battle of the sexes with verbal and physical blows that come thick and fast. Audiences will be kept guessing as they follow twists and turns that lead them to truly wonder who is the cat and who is the mouse in this demented lover’s game.

Distributed by The Backlot Films and to be initially released in approximately 50 cinemas around Australia, Stalkher is the ultimate Romeo and Juliet story that got old and bitter, with grit and gusto that will bowl the audiences over in shock and laughter. It’s a dark, demented look at love, sex, and kitchen renovations for the over 40’s.

StalkHer has been supported by Screen Queensland via Production Investment funding and was predominately shot at the Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

So please get online and support our local industry and buy tickets today!

More on the film’s soundtrack as taken from the official StalkHer media release:

Jarratt performs an original track titled “Killer In Me”, which is featured during the closing credits of Stalkher, and has clocked up over 110,000 views on YouTube.

In the spirit of the film’s inappropriate dark humour, Jarratt and Fairfax have been hitting the local pubs in selected towns around Australia and inviting preview audiences to compete with their respective formidable set of lungs in after party karaoke competitions, giving fans a truly memorable experience.

Says Jarratt: “Kaarin and I have really enjoyed being on the road and showcasing Stalkher, as well as having a bit of fun with our fans. We can’t wait to bring the party to Queensland, where it all began.”

The soundtrack to Stalkher will be released by Remote Control Records, featuring the likes of Nick Cave, Skyhooks and Sarah Blasko, with a few surprises – including John Jarratt’s song debut ‘Killer in Me’ and the forthcoming single performed by Kaarin Fairfax’s two daughters, Maddy and Memphis Kelly (aka ‘Wishful’) – the sultry dive-bar-esque title track, StalkHer.
