Screen Queensland will once again be a Strategic Partner for Eurovision – Australia Decides,  as it returns to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in February 2020.

The musical extravaganza produced by SBS and Blink TV will determine which song will represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest next year in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Queensland-born Kate Miller-Heidke won last year’s event with her performance of Zero Gravity that reached more than 1 million viewers via the SBS live television broadcast, Facebook, Twitter and SBS On Demand.

The live performance attracted over 6,700 Eurovision fans from across the nation into the Gold Coast, delivering significant economic benefits for the local tourism industry.

“Screen Queensland is proud to support this highly anticipated television event for the second year running,” said Screen Queensland CEO, Kylie Munnich.

“For fans across Australia, their Eurovision experience will again start on the Gold Coast, turning the nation’s eyes to Queensland while providing opportunities for local screen practitioners.”

The first four artists announced to perform are Casey Donovan, Vanessa Amorosi, Mitch Tambo & iOTA.

The winning song will be determined  by a 50/50 weighted vote between a professional jury and the Australian public, live via sms or online at www.sbs.com.au/eurovision.

The event is additionally presented in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, City of Gold Coast and APRA AMCOS.

Tickets are on sale now to Eurovision – Australia Decides – Gold Coast 2020, with opening night and matinee shows Friday 7 February 7:30pm and Saturday 8 February 1:00pm, and the final televised show on Saturday 8 February 7:30pm AEST.
