Join producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Subversion, Transformers) and director Peyton Reed (Bring it On, Ant-Man) in this exciting In Conversation event moderated by Blake Howard.

Presented by Screen Queensland as part of Brisbane International Film Festival’s Upstream industry program, the pair will look back on the ride, and forward to what’s next. Expect candour, craft, and a few stories that never made the press junket.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is currently in Queensland producing Subversion starring Chris Hemsworth and Lily James, proudly supported through our Production Attraction Strategy.

ABOUT LORENZO DI BONAVENTURA

Lorenzo di Bonaventura has produced some of the biggest franchises in Hollywood history. He began his career as a film studio executive and eventually rose to be President of Warner Bros, working on over 130 productions during his time there in addition to bringing the Harry Potter, Matrix and Ocean’s franchises to Warner Bros. His biggest commercial and critical successes were: Falling DownA Time to KillThree KingsAnalyze ThisThe Perfect StormUnder Siege and Training Day.

In 2002, di Bonaventura left Warner Brothers and started di Bonaventura Pictures. Since then he has produced over fifty movies which have earned more than seven billion dollars in global box office. di Bonaventura is best known for producing the Transformers, GI Joe, Red and The Meg franchises. Other films he’s produced include Constantine starring Keanu Reeves; Four Brothers directed by John Singleton; Shooter directed by Antoine Fuquaand starring Mark Wahlberg; the psychological horror 1408, based on a Stephen King short story; the adventure fantasy film Stardust based on the Neil Gaiman book; the espionage thriller Salt starring Angelina Jolie; Deepwater Horizon, directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich and American Assassin, the film adaptation of Vince Flynn’s best-selling political thriller, starring Dylan O’Brien and Michael Keaton.

Upcoming films include the action thriller Subversion for Amazon currently shooting in Queensland starring Chris Hemsworth, Lily James, Michael Pena and Joe Cole.

Having moved into television di Bonaventura has Executive Produced The Real O’Neals for ABC, Shooter for USA Network, and the Apple+ series The New Look, which explores the rise of Christian Dior. 

di Bonaventura received his undergraduate degree in Intellectual History at Harvard College and his Master of Business Administration at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He was awarded the Golden Eye Career Achievement Award from the Zurich Film Festival in 2016. He is on the Board of Trustees for both Emerson College and on the honorary committee of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. di Bonaventura is also a proud member of Producers United.
