In Conversation: Voltron’s Academy Award-winning producer Todd Lieberman

Join us for an intimate in-person In Conversation event with acclaimed producer Todd Lieberman at Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast. Todd is currently in Queensland filming Amazon MGM Studios’ live-action feature film Voltron at Village Roadshow Studios.

Hear about his experiences shooting in Queensland and working on major productions including Beauty and the Beast, Wonder, The Proposal, The Fighter and working under his own company Hidden Pictures as well as Mandeville Films, Disney and Summit Entertainment.

ABOUT TODD LIEBERMAN

Todd Lieberman is an Oscar and Emmy winning producer and founder of Hidden Pictures. Lieberman is one of the leading producers in the entertainment industry today. In total, he has had eight movies open at #1 at the box office, and they have been nominated for 11 Academy Awards, winning three. He most recently produced White Bird: A Wonder Story with Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson; Shotgun Wedding starring Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel, which was the number one streaming release worldwide that year; Rescue Rangers, which won the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie; Hit & Run, an action thriller series on Netflix; War Machine, for Lionsgate and Netflix; The Housemaid and Robin Hood for Lionsgate;  the documentary following the life and career of all-time rock band Def Leppard and a documentary series for Amazon titled Soul Power about the American Basketball Association.  

Prior to the creation of his company, Hidden Pictures, Lieberman produced under the Mandeville Films banner which he continues to co-own. Lieberman produced Disney’s live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as The Beast. The critically hailed film broke box office records worldwide and became the highest grossing PG-rated film in North America of all time. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards©: Costume Design and Production Design. Some of Lieberman’s other extensive credits include The Fighter, starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. The film grossed almost $130 million worldwide, earning an Academy Award© nomination for Best Picture and winning Best Supporting Actor and Actress Awards for Bale and Leo; Wonder, starring Julia Roberts, which grossed over $304 million worldwide and was nominated for an Academy Award© in Makeup and Hair. While producing under the Disney banner, Lieberman produced a string of hits, including the romantic comedy The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. The Proposal became the highest grossing romantic comedy of the year, earning over $317 million worldwide. Lieberman also produced The Muppets, starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams, which earned the Academy Award© for Best Song;    Muppets Most Wanted; The Aeronauts starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones; Stronger, starring Jake Gyllenhaal; Warm Bodies, starring Nicholas Hoult, John Malkovich and Teresa Palmer. He also executive produced Insurgent and Allegiant, part of the Divergent movie series for Summit.
