Feature film SWOT workshop with Beatrice Neumann

Run by Beatrice Neumann, this workshop is a three-hour introduction SWOT analysis workshop for up to five project teams (fictional feature films only).

Participating teams will pre-prepare a SWOT analysis (a breakdown of a projects strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) for their film, for analysis during the workshop. The workshop will also explore who teams are making the film for and how to find and target audience.

The SWOT analysis measures the state of a project by identifying its strengths and weaknesses and helps turn weaknesses into strengths over the development of the project. It is also essential to forming a tailor-made strategy for the project by identifying external opportunities to take advantages of, and threats to be avoided or mitigated.

By the end of this workshop, participating teams will have a better understanding of how a SWOT analysis can help them identify their audiences and market opportunities to give their project the best chance for success.

To be eligible to participate your team must be female-led (a minimum of two members of the team must be female) and is specific for feature film projects. Teams will comprise a maximum of three people.

Applications are now open and close at 5.00pm, Friday 27 April 2018.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

• Suitability of the proposed project for the workshop
• Potential benefits of the project to the Queensland screen industry
• Track record of the applicant, appropriate to career stage

About Beatrice Neumann:
Beatrice is the Acting Director of Operations for Inside Pictures, an intensive film business training and leadership skills development program presented by the National Film and Television School, UK.

Beatrice had a successful spanning a decade in film acquisitions for The Works and Content Media, before becoming an independent international film consultant.

Beatrice’s freelance work involves consulting directly with filmmakers developing marketing and distribution strategies in the early stages of the project development including story and script consultancy and has run direct distribution campaigns in the UK.

She also teaches at Sheffield Hallam University as an Associate Lecturer and speaks regularly on international panels and advises and participates as a trainer on international training programs.
