Jennifer Carreras is the Head of Television Development at Fierce Baby, a film and TV production company focused on amplifying new voices and perspectives in both comedy and drama. She is currently an Executive Producer on the new NBC sitcom Young Rock, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and is a comedic biographical take on his early years. Previously, Carreras was the Vice President of Comedy at ABC and at 20th Century Fox Television Studios.

ABOUT JENNIFER CARRERAS
Jennifer Carreras is the Head of Television Development at Fierce Baby, a film and TV production company founded by filmmaker and showrunner Nahnatchka Khan which focuses on amplifying new voices and perspectives in both comedy and drama. Carreras is currently an Executive Producer on the NBC sitcom Young Rock, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and is a comedic biographical take on his early years. The show recently debuted to the network’s best comedy premiere ratings since 2017, is the top new scripted series premiere of the 2020-2021 season so far, and premiered to a certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Carreras will next serve as an EP on a reboot of the beloved 80s sitcom Kate & Allie currently in development at NBC and on an untitled dark comedy series starring Krysten Ritter. Previously, Carreras was the Vice President of Comedy at ABC Television where she oversaw the development of fan favorite series including Single Parents, Bless This Mess, and The Kids Are Alright. She additionally served as VP of Comedy at 20th Century Fox Television Studios where she worked on a slate of comedy shows with seasoned creators including Khan, Liz Meriwether, Jerrod Carmichael, Chris Lord and Phil Miller, Jason Winer, Lesley Wake Webster, Jake Kasdan, Mike Royce, and the Chernin brothers.

ABOUT YOUNG ROCK
As Dwayne Johnson runs for president in 2032, he takes a comedic look back at his extraordinary life through the outrageous stories of his family and youth that shaped him into the man he is today. He explores his childhood years living amid influential wrestling icons while his dad rose to fame in the business, his rebellious teenage years attending high school in Pennsylvania, and his football years teamed up with powerhouse players at the University of Miami. In his telling, Johnson explains that while his experiences have been larger than life, he remains a down-to-earth guy who still relates to the American people.

NBC’s Young Rock, which premiered in the U.S. on February 16th, was filmed at Screen Queensland Studios and on location around Brisbane, generating $33 million in production expenditure for Queensland and approximately 750 jobs for cast, crew and extras.
