The Queensland Government recently appointed two new members to the Screen Queensland Board to commence three-year terms from 1 July 2024 — Carla McGrath and Professor Scott Harrison.

Carla McGrath is a proud Torres Strait Islander woman with extensive board and advisory experience. As an independent consultant, Carla specialises in community engagement and consultation, transformational organisational cultural change, for-purpose organisational strategy and sustainability, program design and development, and facilitation.

Professor Harrison is Pro Vice Chancellor (Arts, Education and Laws) and Assistant Vice Chancellor (Cultural Curation and Community Partnerships) at Griffith University. In addition to overseeing a broad range of portfolios and leadership of creative entities at the university, he is also Chair of the Australian Youth Orchestra.

“The board looks forward to working with Ms McGrath and Professor Harrison to support the agency’s strategic direction, policies and funding decisions, and to continue to build a successful and inclusive screen sector across the state,” said Screen Queensland Chair, The Honourable Roslyn Atkinson AO.

“I would also like to thank outgoing board member Dean Gibson for his contributions to the organisation and to the Queensland screen industry.”

The award-winning First Nations filmmaker was recently appointed Chair of the Queensland Theatre board.
