Screen Queensland and SBS Unscripted Short Form Content Initiative: Three teams selected to go into production

Screen Queensland (SQ) and SBS are delighted to announce the three teams that will go into production creating unscripted short-form content for SBS On Demand in 2019.

The SQ and SBS Unscripted Short Form Content has been a new initiative for 2018 supporting Queensland filmmakers from diverse backgrounds.

The three teams are:

(1) Bananas 

3 x 5 minute episodes

Mary Duong (writer/producer), Rachel Anderson (writer/director)

A curious and playful look at growing up between two cultures in the Sunshine State, with particular focus on food and family, presented by two Australian-born Asian friends who are awkward, honest, and warm in equal parts.

(2) Monsters of Many Worlds 

3 x 5 minute episodes

Daniel Mulvihill (writer/producer), Madeleine Dyer (writer/director)

An online series about messed-up monster stories from around the world.

(3) Aunty Dawn Daylight 

​One 15 minute episode 

Nurdewi Djamal (director/producer), Callan Murray (director)

Aunty Dawn Daylight, a proud First Nations woman, recounts her childhood and the dark history of living under the 1939 Aboriginal Preservation and Protection Act.
