SQ’s IncubatHER, proudly presented by Screen Queensland and supported by the Queensland Government, is an annual event that brings together screen practitioners and industry leaders to join-in the conversation around women’s participation in screen.
Now in its third year, SQ IncubatHER is once again supported by QUT Creative Industries.
SQ IncubatHER is where we can gather and share ideas and strategies on the best practice to grow women’s participation in creative screen roles and foster connections and collaborations in a supportive and inspirational way.
SQ is thrilled to announce that Tracey Spicer is confirmed as this year’s keynote address.

The 2018 SQ IncubatHER keynote inspirational guest for the day is Tracey Spicer.
Tracey Spicer is passionate about the rights of women and girls.
Over the past 30 years the journalist, author and broadcaster has anchored programs for ABC TV, Network Ten, Channel 9, Sky News and Radio 2UE, and written hundreds of columns for Fairfax and News Corp. She now amplifies the voices of others through the social enterprise, Outspoken Women.
In 2018, Tracey was awarded an Order of Australia for her work as the national co-founder of Women in Media, and as an ambassador for charitable and social welfare groups.
Tracey has written, produced and presented documentaries for NGOs on topics such as female foeticide and domestic violence in Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and India. She is an Ambassador for ActionAid, World Vision, Cancer Council NSW, The Full Stop Foundation, NSW Kids in Need and SISTER2sister, and Patron of the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance.
Since October last year, Tracey has been spearheading the #MeToo movement in Australia, producing award-winning investigative stories with Fairfax and the ABC.
In March she created NOW Australia, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at helping anyone who has been sexually harassed in the workplace. Her tireless advocacy led to the creation of the world’s first national inquiry into sexual harassment in the workplace, by the AHRC.
Tracey’s memoir The Good Girl Stripped Bare became a bestseller within weeks of publication, while her essays have appeared in dozens of books including Women of Letters, She’s Having a Laugh, Father Figures, and Unbreakable.
Her TEDx Talk, The Lady Stripped Bare, has attracted almost five million views globally.
