Brisbane thriller fans will get a chance to see Australia’s latest psychological thriller The Fear of Darkness, Wednesday 19 August at Palace Cinemas on James Street, Fortitude Valley at 7.00pm.
If you have not yet seen the internationally, award-winning The Fear of Darkness, then this is a friendly reminder to get in quick to buy your tickets for next week’s special screening event! This special screening will be immediately followed by a Q&A session with the writer/director Chris Fitchett, producer Mark Overett and two members of the cast Damien Garvey (Rake, The Killing Field) and Chris Sommers (Unfinished Sky, The Water Diviner).

The Fear of Darkness tells the story of a brilliant young psychiatrist (Maeve Dermody) who is forced to confront the dark creature that dwells deep within her own unconscious, when she tends to a young university student (Penelope Mitchell) suspected of the bloody murder of her student boyfriend.
Nominated for seven awards at FilmQuest in Salt Lake City last month, The Fear of Darkness marks the return to directing of industry veteran Chris Fitchett, who more recently produced the schoolies comedy hit Blurred and whose directing CV includes Blood Money starring Bryan Brown.
Produced by Mark Overett (Separation City, Unfinished Sky), the film features a stellar line-up of Aussie stars including Dermody (Griff the Invisible), Mitchell (The Vampire Diaries), Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road) and Mark Leonard Winter (Van Diemen’s Land), along with the fore-mentioned local stars Damien Garvey and Chris Sommers.
Proudly supported by Screen Queensland, The Fear of Darkness was shot entirely on location in South East Queensland and Village Roadshow Studios. Post Production was completed at Cutting Edge and Digital Sound & Vision.
