NQ Screen Skills: Fundamentals of Factual Forum

Screen Queensland, in partnership with Screenworks, is hosting the NQ Screen Skills: Fundamentals of Factual Forum on Thursday 4 July. Held at Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns, the free one-day event provides attendees with invaluable insights, practical knowledge and essential skills for navigating documentary filmmaking.

Hear from a diverse group of industry experts including:

  • Veronica Fury (Executive Producer, Wildbear Entertainment),
  • Dean Gibson (Director, Bacon Factory Films),
  • Richard Fitzpatrick (DOP, Biopixel),
  • Daniella Ortega (Documentary Investment and Development Manager, Screen Australia),
  • Danielle Ah Boo (Head of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit, Screen Queensland) and
  • Ian Lynch (Acting Head of Content – Industry and Initiatives, Screen Queensland).

Registered attendees have the opportunity to schedule a 15-minute individual consultation from 10am–11:30am before the forum begins at 12noon. The forum will cover vital topics for documentary films and series, including compelling storytelling, securing funding, production and distribution and measuring impact. The program also includes a Q&A session with networking to follow at Whiskey and Wine by Crystalbrook.
