Big congratulations to Screen Queensland’s CEO Tracey Vieira, who was one of the finalists at this week’s 2016 Australian Telstra Business Woman of the Year ceremony held in Melbourne. The Telstra Business Woman of the Year recognises and honours women who are dedicated to helping others succeed.
Ms Vieira, who took out the 2016 Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year and the state’s Corporate and Private Award last month in Brisbane, has been recognised for her role in creating a successful national and international profile for Australia’s screen industry.
‘I have been humbled by this recognition,’ said Ms Vieira, ‘It has been an honour to give the Arts and the screen industry – especially our contribution to business – a national profile.
‘Over the last few years and in sync with the global movement for improving women’s status in our industry, I will continue to champion Queensland’s movement for greater gender equality in screen both in front and behind the camera. I also remain focused on improving diversity and greater inclusiveness in our industry as I recognise the relationship between the screen and social, economic and political influence and change, can be powerful.’
