Screen Queensland is pleased to announce the third project from the Digital Conversions initiative –Perfect Messy Love, by Gemini Arts & Media – created, co-produced and directed by Tam Sainsbury, and co-produced and written by Megan Williams.
The story follows Emily, an English aspiring romance author. After losing her boyfriend and job all in one day, Emily tests her theories of perfect love when she swaps her London flat for an Australian surfer’s beach house – only to find that true love is sometimes perfect and messy!
“Our story is a traditional romantic comedy with all the known formulas but is set in this day and age with how we all now live, with everyone resorting to Zoom and Skype,” said Tam Sainsbury, Creator, Co-producer and Director.
“We see the lead character Emily developing an entire relationship over video chat and also continuing her close friendship with her BFF, who is still in London while she is in Queensland.
“I was really keen to do something with an Australian Christmas theme, and I think audiences will love the fact it is a completely traditional romantic comedy featuring modern day twists,” said Ms Sainsbury.
