Richard Finlayson joined the ABC as Director of Television in 2013. He has worked in media since 1985, beginning his career as a print journalist in regional NSW. He has built and sold his own successful media and television production business, and worked for some years in subscription television. In 2009, he became Chief Operating Officer at the SBS. In his time at SBS Richard significantly increased commercial revenue, led its growing subscription television business, and spearheaded the network’s expansion onto emerging digital platforms.
Rebecca Heap is Head of Audience & Digital at the ABC and has broad media experience across commercial, strategy and content roles. Rebecca joined the ABC in May 2014 as Head of TV Strategy & Digital Products and was previously the Director of Content & Partnerships at Foxtel. With her team, Rebecca oversees ABC TV’s audience offering including iview, Children’s digital products and ABC TV’s broadcast channels.
Steve Bibb is Head of Factual at ABC TV. In a diverse career, Steve has been a creative leader, executive producer, series producer, director, writer, newspaper journalist and author.
His recent commissions include Keeping Australia Alive, Anh’s Brush with Fame, Conviction, Big Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Becoming Superhuman, Breaking the Silence and the upcoming Silvia’s Italian Table, Todd’s Life on the Line, Bullied and Ice Wars.
Before joining the ABC in 2015, Steve was Executive Producer of Factual for the super indie CJZ. His production credits at CJZ include Great Southern Land and Two Men in China for the ABC, Hardliners and MegaTruckers for the A&E channels and true crime series Wanted for Network Ten.
Sally Riley is currently the Head of ABC TV’s Scripted Production.
Prior to her current role, Sally was the Manager of ABC’s Indigenous Department for 6 years. Over that period she has been integral to the development of Indigenous Australian content. Sally has been responsible for developing and commissioning ground breaking prime-time drama series including, Cleverman, Redfern Now, Gods of Wheat Street, 8MMM Aboriginal Radio and sketch comedy series Black Comedy. Sally was also responsible for developing and overseeing the production of a significant body of short films, documentaries and feature films, has she fostered the development of a new generation of exciting new Indigenous filmmakers as Head of Indigenous at Screen Australia. An experienced filmmaker, Sally’s film, Confessions of a Headhunter, won the AFI Award for Best Short Film in 2000.
