Come along to this AWG seminar with multi-award winning screenwriter and producer Tim Pye who will take you step-by-step through the rights you create when you write a screenplay

Too many screenwriters go into contract negotiations without enough knowledge about the rights they have created.  As a result, some sign away too much, some try to hold onto everything.  Neither position is in the writer’s best interests.

This two hour seminar by multi-award winning screenwriter and producer Tim Pye will take you step-by-step through the rights you create when you write a screenplay, what those rights are worth, which ones you need to sell, license or assign to a producer and which ones you should hang on to.

You will get answers to questions like:

  • What is the difference between Copyright, Secondary Rights, Ancillary Rights and Moral Rights?
  • What is “chain of title” and why is it important?
  • What are residuals?
  • What does a good option agreement look like?

This seminar is free and places are limited (ONLY 40 TICKETS AVAILABLE) so please RSVP by 5.00pm Friday 12 August.

This event is proudly supported by Screen Queensland
