Screen Queensland and Gameloft are excited to announce two 6-month paid internship opportunities working in the areas of animation and programming at the award-winning Brisbane games studio.

Supported by Screen Queensland, this is an opportunity to join a global games studio that has worked on a wide variety of genres and properties, including The Oregon Trail and My Little Pony: Mane Merge.

ANIMATION INTERNSHIP

The Animation Intern will create high-quality 3D animations for characters and props for games in development.

About the role

The Animation Intern will:

  • Create high-quality 3D animations for characters and prop
  • Work within the art team to ensure animations are consistent with the overall look and feel of the game
  • Have an eagerness to learn and improve skills, keeping current on animation techniques and technology
  • Test and iterate animations to satisfy technical and performance requirements, collaborating with experienced animators to develop and improve animation quality. 
Who can apply

People who have completed study or are nearing completion of study in an area such as Computer Science, Digital Art, or Interactive Games are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be proficient in 3D animation software, primarily Maya and have a strong portfolio demonstrating 3D animation skills including character animation. Applicants will have lived and worked in Queensland for at least 6 months prior to applying and be available to work full-time and on-site in Brisbane City.

PROGRAMMING INTERNSHIP

The Programming Intern will work on developing and maintaining game mechanics, systems, and tools in Unreal Engine using C++ programming language and Blueprints.

About the role

The Programming Intern will:

  • Work on developing and maintaining game mechanics, systems, and tools in Unreal Engine using C++ programming language and Blueprints
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to ensure that the game meets the project’s technical requirements and quality standards
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
  • Write and maintain technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs in existing code. 
Who can apply

People who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in an area such as Computer Science or Software Engineering. Applicants will have experience with C++ programming language, familiarity with game development principles and best practices. Applicants will have lived and worked in Queensland for at least 6 months prior to applying and be available to work full-time and on-site in Brisbane City.
