Screen Queensland and Network 10 will offer four emerging First Nations film and television practitioners the opportunity to produce their own Community Service Announcements (CSA) – 60-second television segments – in Queensland, followed by a six-month mentorship program.
The first phase will involve a paid, four-week placement with executives from Network 10 to write, produce and edit a 60-second CSA about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Screen Queensland will cover costs for travel, accommodation and per diems for recipients to partake in production (throughout Queensland), as part of the four-week placement. Development, pre-production and post-production will take place remotely.
Following the placement, the second phase involves a six-month mentorship with Network 10 experts in the form of monthly support, to provide applicants with invaluable guidance in building a career in the television sector.
This opportunity is suitable for graduates and early-career screen professionals.

WHO CAN APPLY?
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must:
- be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident, aged 18 or over
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- be an early career practitioner
- meet Screen Queensland’s eligibility requirements as defined in Terms of Trade.
Applicants who do not fulfil these obligations will not be eligible.
HOW DO YOU APPLY?

You will need to include the following:
- CV including:
- Relevant experience (such as work on indie films and/or accreditations)
- Links to previous work where applicable
- Proof of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identity.
- A 300-word cover letter OR a 60-second video, introducing yourself, explaining where you are in terms of your career, why you’re applying and why you believe this Mentorship will benefit you and your career pathway in the film and television industry.
- Have your primary residential address located in Queensland.
- Applicants must be:
- available to write and revise scripts in-person or online on key dates (to be advised and subject to change)
- available to travel to Far North Queensland to take part in the shooting phase of the production (dates and location to be advised and are subject to change).
