Screen Queensland’s Capital Grants Program has supported Chrysaor Studios, the Gold Coast’s newest virtual production studio, to create an accessible and affordable environment for producers working across a range of budgets.
As the first of its kind Social Traders-certified social enterprise film studio approaches six months of operation, projects from the likes of Werner Film Productions, The Onset Productions and WildBear Entertainment have already taken advantage of the Varsity Lakes-based facility.
Chrysaor Studios boasts a purpose-built LED volume stage operated in partnership with AniMax Studios that features Unreal Engine real-time environments, full camera tracking integration and on-set virtual production supervision. The facility also includes production offices, meeting rooms and flexible stage space for film, television and commercial production.
Founder and CEO Christopher Amos said:
“Screen Queensland’s Capital Grants Program made this possible. It has allowed us to bring virtual production capability to the Gold Coast and open it up to producers at every budget level, from a one-day commercial to a feature block.
As a social enterprise, our goal is to make world-class technology accessible while creating pathways into the industry, and this support got us there years earlier than we could have managed alone.”
Since opening their doors in April 2026, the team has hosted the Gold Coast Virtual Production Showcase drawing more than 150 industry practitioners to experience the studio, as well as Queensland’s Minister for the Arts, John-Paul Langbroek MP and City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
