The Rebel Fleet has officially opened its doors to its newest facility on the Gold Coast, made possible through support from Screen Queensland’s Capital Grants program. The launch was a celebration that brought together crew, creators and vendors from across the local filmmaking community.
Guests toured the purpose-built space and discussed the exciting opportunities ahead for Queensland’s growing screen sector.
The facility features six multi-purpose suites for dailies, editorial, review, a full workshop, on-set digital imaging (DIT) and a dedicated test area for pipeline creation and validation—enabling multiple productions to be serviced simultaneously.
For The Rebel Fleet, location is everything. Being in the heart of the local industry helps foster strong relationships with vendors and crew that enable genuine creative partnerships. These connections promote collaboration, skills development and knowledge sharing—ensuring the state’s screen sector continues to grow stronger.
CEO and Co-Founder Mike Urban said:
“Screen Queensland’s funding has been instrumental in building infrastructure. It not only boosts industry capacity but supports the creation of a sustainable, thriving screen sector in Queensland. By expanding local capabilities, the facility allows productions to access world-class services both in Queensland and beyond.
“It was fantastic to celebrate with so many friends and collaborators who make this industry thrive. This new space represents not just a step forward for The Rebel Fleet, but for the local industry as a whole.”
