Acknowledgement of Country
Screen Queensland acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Custodians of Australia. We recognise their 65,000 years of custodianship that pre-dates colonisation. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and recognise the cultural and historic connection to land, sea, cosmos (the inclusion of the constellations that are part of a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spiritual and environmental narrative) and community. Screen Queensland is committed to elevating the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners to continue to share their rich cultures and perspectives with the Queensland and global community through screen storytelling. Screen Queensland understands the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and practitioners to be leaders in their own narratives to promote inclusion, collaboration and authenticity. Always was, always will be.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
You may recall that Screen Queensland is moving to a new funding platform and we had previously flagged that applications through SmartyGrants would be closing this June. To allow more development time with the new platform we will be continuing to use SmartyGrants for applications and acquittals for the time being.
As such, our current SmartyGrants portal will NOT be closing this June and will remain open for applications until further notice. We look forward to launching our new, streamlined funding platform soon, so watch this space for updates.

Screen Queensland is the Queensland Government-owned agency dedicated to growing a successful screen industry in the state. The agency supports locally produced films, series and digital games, and secures international and interstate production and post-production into Queensland. It also runs initiatives to build skills and careers for local screen practitioners, and funds film festivals and industry events and conferences. Screen Queensland also operates Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane and Cairns.
